This work introduces the concept of solvation exclusion, demonstrating that more fluorination is not always better. Instead, balancing the degree of fluorination with molecular geometry is crucial for achieving favorable Li⁺ solvation, interfacial kinetics, and long-term stability in Ni-rich lithium-ion batteries.
