The 1st Sustainable and Green Electrochemical Science and Technology (SGEST) Symposium

We are excited to announce the inaugural SGEST Symposium, to be held on September 27-29, 2023, at the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) in Rayong, Thailand.
This symposium will bring together leading researchers from around the world to discuss the latest advances in sustainable and green electrochemical science and technology. The plenary speaker will be Professor Jeff Dahn, a world-renowned expert in lithium-ion batteries.
About Professor Jeff Dahn
Prof. Jeff Dahn is a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science and the Department of Chemistry at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Materials Research Society.
Professor Dahn is a world-renowned expert in lithium-ion batteries. He is the co-inventor of the lithium-ion battery, and he has led research on the development of high-performance, safe, and long-lasting lithium-ion batteries. His work has had a major impact on the development of electric vehicles and other battery-powered devices.
Some of Professor Dahn's notable achievements include:
• Co-inventing the lithium-ion battery in 1985.
• Developing a method for improving the energy density of lithium-ion batteries by using a graphite anode.
• Developing a method for improving the cycle life of lithium-ion batteries by using a lithium iron phosphate cathode.
• Leading research on the development of new materials for lithium-ion batteries, such as silicon anodes and lithium metal anodes.
Professor Dahn is a highly respected researcher and educator. He has published over 600 papers in scientific journals, and he has received numerous awards for his work, including the Gerhard Herzberg Canada Gold Medal for Science and Engineering, the Henry Marshall Tory Medal, and the NSERC Brockhouse Canada Prize in Science and Engineering.
In 2016, Professor Dahn began a 5-year research partnership with Tesla Motors to improve the energy density, lifetime, and cost of lithium-ion batteries. He is also Chief Scientific Advisor to NOVONIX (NASDAQ:NVX), a battery materials and technology company based in Canada and the United States.
Professor Dahn is a true pioneer in the field of lithium-ion batteries. His work has had a major impact on the development of electric vehicles and other battery-powered devices. He is a role model for young scientists and engineers, and he continues to make significant contributions to the field of energy storage.
